ATTENTION FROM THE MET:  Per Executive Order issued by Governor Kevin Stitt conceding COVID-19 on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Collinsville Recycling Depot will be CLOSED to the public at close of business today until April 15, 2020, when the situation will be reevaluated.

Collinsville is proud to have a local recycling center available to our residents. Recycling has numerous benefits for our community and the environment.

There are many benefits to recycling:

  • Conserves natural resources
  • Creates jobs and businesses
  • Extends the useful lives of our landfills
  • Helps keep our neighborhoods clean
  • Reduces air and water pollution
  • Reduces gases that cause global warming

  • Aluminum cans - rinse and flatten
  • Batteries - household and auto
  • Cardboard
  • Glass bottles - clear, brown and green only (no plate, pyrex or other glass accepted)
  • Magazines - up to one-inch thick catalogs
  • Motor oil/antifreeze - up to 5 gallons per person per day. No mixed fluids or gasoline is accepted. Drop off during attended hours only.
  • Newspapers - including glossy inserts
  • Office paper - includes envelopes, colored paper, and junk mail
  • Phone books
  • Plastics number 1 and number 2 - with neck or handle (check the bottom for number, remove the lid, rinse and flatten)
