In the Tulsa world, the below article shows Collinsville as having the highest school growth in the Tulsa area!
Some Tulsa-area school districts are seeing larger and slightly more diverse student populations as people move into the suburbs, according to a Tulsa World analysis.
Among seven metro-area school districts examined, Collinsville and Bixby showed the largest percentage growth in student population between the 2007-08 and 2011-12 school years. Collinsville Public Schools topped other districts with a student population increase of 27 percent during the time period, reflecting growth in the community at-large.
The district gained 565 students in that time and more than doubled the number of Hispanic students enrolled. Last year, 112 Hispanic students attended Collinsville schools, up from 46 in 2007-08.
"Collinsville is popular as a bedroom community for both Owasso and Tulsa, which has contributed to our growth," said Roger Dunham, director of the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce. "The small-town atmosphere is desirable and yet within reasonable driving distance of the attractions in Tulsa's metropolitan areas."
