Collinsville News and Information

Plans are underway in Collinsville for the biggest Independence Day Celebration yet!  This years event will take place on Saturday June, 30, 2018.  The Celebration will start with the annual Independence Day Celebration Parade down Main Street beginning at 11:00 a.m.  This year to commemorate 1776, the year of our independence, we would like to have 76 entries in the parade!  The festivities will then continue in the City Park starting at 2:00 in the afternoon.

There will be NO PARKING  at the City Park except for handicapped parking near the Splash Pad.  All others are encouraged to park in the Collinsville High School parking lot and ride the shuttle to the park.  We will have two shuttles going back and forth between the Park and the High School all night long.

We will once again have the Darling Ingredients Inflatable Kids Zone.  Featuring inflatables for the whole family from toddlers to adult.  The Joust arena is sure to be a big hit again this year!

The Turtle Races will begin at 4:00.  Bring your turtle to the Collinsville Collinsion Turtle Arena near the Sand Volleyball Court and get registered and ready to race by 4:00.   We will have ribbons for the winners and a souvenir for everyone that enters.  It's sure to be an exciting event.

We are excited to have The Cake Lady of Collinsville on board to help us find the best Blue Ribbon Pie in Collinsville. Pies should be entered the day of the event, Saturday, June 30 between 4:45-5:00. Judging will begin promptly at 5:00 in the afternoon. All contestants must bring 2 of the exact same pie. One will be judged and the other will be auctioned off to benefit Dividing Bread Ministries local food bank.

Following the Pie Auction around 6:00 p.m. we will have the popular band South of Vertical take the stage.  South of Vertical is a local Oklahoma favorite covering everything from George Strait to ZZ Top. They are a country band, but play a wide verity of covers to meet the dynamic range of music fans enjoy.   Around 7:30 our headliner the Trett Charles Band will take the stage to round out the nights entertainment.  Trett is a local Collinsville hometown young man well on his way to making his name in Nashville.  We are excited to have him and the band perform at our Independence Day Celebration.

Once the sun goes down the sky will become the stage for one of the best fireworks displays in Green Country.  The City of Collinsville fireworks display has become known as one of the displays you'll see in Oklahoma.  Precision timing with the fireworks set to patriotic favorites playing through the sound system is the perfect way to end the day long celebration of our country's independence.

Bring the family for an Independence Day Celebration that you won't soon forget!
